Her speech was emotional, passionate, motivational, and inspirational. I don't have any personal stories of family being denied access or being treated like they're less than human because of their ethnicity, gender, or creed, but I have friends who do. I simply can't understand how I can watch the First Lady talk about her black family living in a home built by slaves and cry, or watch an Ethiopian runner talk about his peaceful reaction to being called the "n word" and cry, but other people can support a presidential candidate who has stated numerous times that somehow it's okay to treat Mexicans, women, Muslims, etc. like they're unworthy of dignity and respect. Watch her speech. Watch the movie "Race" about Jessie Owens.
Obama began her Monday speech talking about the importance of family and serving as role models to children. She said Hillary Clinton is the only person she trusts to lead the U.S in this election.
